Can Bostaden deny a switch of apartments?

In order for Bostaden to approve a switch of apartments there has to be a reason for the switch to take place. We can deny the switch if one of the tenants have not been taking care of their previous apartment, if they lack the financial condition to cope with the rent or if the switch is a significant inconvenience to us or if other special reasons speaks against the switch.

What does it take to get permission for apartment exchange?

In your application, state the reasons for the exchange. This might e.g. be a changed family situation, requiring a bigger or smaller home. In exchanges between tenants within AB Bostaden, we will check that the people involved have been good tenants and paid their rent. The same applies to an exchange between tenants with different landlords. In such cases we will also do a credit check.

Who is allowed to exchange apartmets?

Anyone with a first-hand contract with us can apply to exchange apartments. You can exchange apartments with Bostaden tenants and with tenants who have another landlord. You can exchange rented apartments, student apartments, and student rooms.
NB: You cannot exchange a student room for a student apartment or rented apartment! Remember to notify us whether a garage or parking space is to be included in the swap. You have to find the person/people that you want to exchange apartments with.
